My first experience with NERGG was in 2009 at the Annual Meeting when my family was invited to attend and speak about my daughter’s diagnosis with Sanfilippo Syndrome and the impact of the disease on our daily lives. My initial experience led me to join NERGG as a consumer; five years later, I was honored to be nominated to join NERGG’s Board of Directors as a Massachusetts Consumer Representative.

I graduated from Boston College Law School in 1999 and joined a large law firm practice in the area of taxation of tax-exempt organizations. After my daughter was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease, I started my own practice focusing on special education law. I worked closely with families as they navigated getting the appropriate services for their child with special needs.

I am looking forward working with NERGG to raise awareness of genetic conditions and helping to find the best ways to serve the genetic disease community.
