TO APPLY FOR A. MERRILL HENDERSON SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

If you would like to request funding from the A. Merrill Henderson Scholarship Fund, simply forward a letter expressing your interest, including the significance in attending a specific conference and registration materials if available. We ask that you include the following information:

1. Name of conference, along with the date(s) and location (and a copy of the conference brochure, if available);
2. A summary of your estimated costs, including registration fees, airfare and other travel expenses, hotel costs, and any other related expenses;
3. A list of state agencies, non-profit organizations, commercial vendors, and other resources that you have contacted with respect to this request, along with any commitments you may have received to date; and
4. A short summary of what you hope to gain from attending this conference. Preference will be given to applicants who have not received funding from the AMH fund in the past.

The NERGG officers and Executive Director will review all applications. Typically, support is awarded as reimbursement, whereby a receipt and summary are forwarded to the NERGG office within two weeks upon return from the conference. There is a maximum $250 award per applicant, which is dependent on the availability of funds. Individuals who receive support from the Fund are required to provide a brief written summary of their conference experience to be presented at our annual meeting in December. Awardees are also welcome to join NERGG as consumer members and become more involved.
