2007 Annual Meeting Summary
In 2007, NERGG awarded one A. Merrill Henderson Consumer Scholarship Award. The AMH Award provides modest financial support to families in New England who are affected by genetic conditions and wish to attend conferences or meetings around the country.
Today we would like to share feedback form this year’s award recipient. Hopefully, stories such as theirs, will impress upon us the need for even modest donations to support this worthy cause.
This year, our award recipient’s family attended the 4th International IDEAS (Isodicentric 15 Exchange Advocacy & Support) Conference, Sharing the Journey, held June 28 – 30, 2007 in Boston. Their post conference summary tells us: “The most emotional part of the conference was the opening parade and seeing all the kids together. The speakers were wonderful and I learned so much about advocating that I never knew.”
Lastly, this mother is on the board of this organization and she states that, “being on the board is the most rewarding part for me, to be a part of making it possible for all these families to get together.” Thank you for your support.
