In keeping with the mission of the New England Regional Genetics Group, NERGG has established consumer scholarships to provide modest assistance for families wishing to attend regional or national meetings related to various genetic conditions.

The A. Merrill Henderson Consumer Scholarship Fund was established in recognition of the dedicated service of NERGG’s second coordinator. During Merrill Henderson’s twelve-year tenure, she diligently pursued NERGG’s mission to promote high-quality genetic services throughout our region and was a strong advocate for integrating the views of consumers in this process.

The A. Merrill Henderson Consumer Scholarship Fund offers modest support to New England residents affected by a genetic condition, to enable them to attend relevant conferences across the country.

Each year, given that funding is available, NERGG will provide assistance to one or two consumer members in the form of registration fee reimbursement for the annual Genetic Alliance National Meeting.
