Any individual who has a demonstrated interest in the mission of NERGG, Inc. and/or has an affiliation with any related organization having a direct relationship to genetic health within New England, or is a consumer of genetic services may become a member of NERGG.

Examples of related organizations include:

  • Facilities providing genetic services such as counseling, diagnosis, intervention, or follow-up care;
  • Genetics programs within state and federal agencies, including newborn screening and programs for children with special health needs;
  • Established consumer organizations with significant involvement in genetic conditions and/or birth defects;
  • Special city, state, regional, or federal projects, whether privately or publicly funded, focusing on genetic health conditions or issues;
  • Research and educational institutions with significant focus on genetic health and public health issues; and
  • Independent and commercial providers of medical genetic products and services.

NERGG, Inc. will provide a forum for discussion and activity among genetic service providers, state health department staff, consumers of genetic services, and others with an interest in genetics issues, to continue the mission of the New England Regional Genetics Group. Members can participate through:

  • Frequent email communications
  • NERGG Board of Directors meetings
  • Volunteering on project workgroups
  • Annual Educational Conference

The NERGG, Inc. Annual Meeting features plenary sessions, workshops, and/or round-table discussions in a variety of areas related to human genetics. An exhibition area offers a showcase for current developments and products in the field of human genetics. Continuing education units are available for genetic counselors. Certificates of attendance are available for other professionals.
